Subject: I was at that show
I kept that ticket stub in my pocket for years. It was a hot day and I remember some one from the stage had a water hose and sprayed water into the air. I remember that show like it was yesterday and this year is the 50th. That was a great show you can show up the day of the show and get tickets. Its not like now people on top of people. There was plenty of room to move and dance. I wont forget this show.

Will the Alabama Getaway seige ever end? I don't recall, certainly after the repetoire had grown, such an emphasis on new material. Hardly a break from any of the Go To Heaven material - Lost Sailor > St. of Circumstance, Far From Me, Althea.

Subject: Fine AUD recording
Very nice audience recording from my alma mater, though I did not attend the show. One of the better shows I have heard from 1980.

Subject: Nice sounding AUD
Good sounding AUD from Folsom football stadium. Joani Walker has done nice work with other shows, too. Full, rich sound and lots of bass. Very little crown noise. Nice performance from the band. Good download.

Subject: ted nugent????
mentioning nugent in a sentence with garcia is like comparing a lounge pianist to beethoven

cat scratch this!

Subject: This is one hell of a setlist
what a great fucking band.
ted nugent's sets were 100% less creative, and made up of 100% shittier songs. the althea makes you feel like your swimming in the ocean off the coast of some tropical island. the feel like a stranger is tight. and jerry garcia is, as always, peter pan and jesus christ and chuck berry and miles davis and hercules all rolled into one. also dig the triple threat rock and roll encore. the audience at this show probably couldnt stop dancing for weeks!

Subject: Sweet Show
I first heard this show when i found it on a random tape in my car. While the quality is not the best, the musicality kills. Every note in New minglewood blues is placed perfectly as whell as a killer organ solo. I also like the althea.
